Oh no, the eighties - the shock, the horror, the shame, the Culture Club… EEK. Just behold this early Centel commercial, circa ~1988. Can you feel the cheezy vibe? but more important, can you actually LIFT and USE this thing, or just kill people with it? Thank god for the fake sounds of progress.

And here’s another classic: this time, an 80’s cellphone commercial from Israel, where they pretend the cellphone to be “the greatest invention in the world since the telephone”. Oh, I guess Israelis never heard about toilet paper.
